Sunglasses though mostly treated as a fashion accessory, it also protects the eyes from the harmful glare of the sunlight consisting UV rays. The most common harm is the cataract caused by the UV rays. This reason must be kept in mind to select the right type of sunglasses for eye protection.

  3. Another important aspect to check out for is the volume of light transmission or VLT. VLT within the range of 18-27% goes very well with those sunglasses on a bright sunny day. Any range above or below the above mentioned percentage gives poor visibility and the solar radiation defense is not sufficient.
  4. Persons who spend a lot of time in outdoor activities, sports sunglasses are of great benefit to them. Lightweight sunglasses are preferred by the sportsperson, so that it keeps them relaxed without the feel of any load on their faces. These sunglasses tend to fall off, so the glass should remain well fitted on the face.
  5. The lens should be examined clearly. Spherical de centered lenses gives the best clarity and more visual field. Being made of thinner material, they are light weighted and preferred by many. One needs to check the blue light blocking performance of these lenses before purchase.
